Generations Family Tree Grande Suite Version 6.0
Review title of AidenWorked fine - PERMISSIONS SCARY
Installed fast, uploaded GED file no problem. Played with it a few minutes - looks okay. But, it gets permission to see thru your camera, know whom you Skype, anything - it specifically says ALL Permissions. Why? Who gets this info. I tried reading their privacy policy, but it referred out to too many third parties who refer to more third parties in a big chain. Uninstalled.
Every desktop application listed in the Microsoft Store has these permissions. Each application is specifically approved by Microsoft before it can be listed. Our privacy policy clearly states the information we collect and how is it used. We do not and cannot collect any information input or imported into My Family Tree (this is stored privately on your device and is not 'uploaded' anywhere). This application has two features provided by third parties: the first displays a map of place and the second provides the coordinates of a place. To use them, you have to send a place name to the third parties in order that they can return a map or coordinates. Since this data was provided to the third party, that data is subject to their privacy policy which we clearly alert you to. Using such features is optional and they are disabled by default when you first install the application.
